Why the Math Is Tighter Than It Looks

Hemp is defined in part by a delta-9 THC concentration of no more than 0.3% on a dry weight basis. Apply that thinking to a finished gummy, and the numbers get uncomfortable fast.

Let's say you're making a gummy with 10 mg of delta-9 THC per piece. To stay at or below 0.3% delta-9 THC by weight, the finished piece has to weigh at least:

10 mg ÷ 0.003 = 3,333 mg = 3.33 grams

  4. What is the moisture vapor transmission rate of the packaging?
  5. Are desiccant packs pulling moisture out of the gummy over time?
  6. Does the manufacturer have homogeneity data showing consistent delta-9 THC distribution across the batch?
  7. Is the potency method stability-indicating and validated for the gummy matrix?
  8. Can the manufacturer trace a finished gummy back to the raw extract lot?

These are not academic questions. They determine whether a product remains compliant and consistent over its entire shelf life.
